It all began with wanting a farm to raise my two children. After graduating from a two year herbal apprentice program in 1999, I made my dream come true by moving to Paonia, CO on a 35-acre farm with Hanna and Teo. It was a big job learning to irrigate 17 acres of hay and establish an acre garden to grow the herbs for my new herbal tincturing business, Mama's Medicinals. It was endlessly exciting though, as there was never a dull day for this single woman striking out on her own. Fast forward to 2023 when I moved my  entrepreneurial endeavors to Redlands Mesa, nearby to Paonia, with the desire to build another dream home. After I finished building my off-grid, one-of-a-kind house, I had to remain creative for my own self-satisfaction to continue. This is when I decided to reignite Mama's Medicinals from a ten year hiatus and also add another product line, cold process soaps, which has become my overnight passion. I had no idea making soaps with just oils, butters, clays and essential oils could be so fulfilling and feel amazing to the skin, silky smooth and comforting. I love adding a further touch of artristy to each bar of soap. From me to you.
